A/N: Hermione's parents might be out of character for a while but I promise everything will make sense later on. Please leave a review. Lots of love to those who do.
Please leave a review contrutice critism is always welcome. It only takes two seconds.

Chapter 1: Reconsidered Love
Hermione sat silently by the bay window looking out on the perfectly kept lawn outside of her parent’s home. She had been there since she had tried to explain to them the need to help Harry find and destroy the rest of the horcruxes. That had been nearly two weeks ago. They had although made a fool hardy mistake, they agreed to let her attend Bill and Fleur’s wedding. She didn’t care if she had to run away to help Harry and Ron, she would not allow them to go alone. She already knew that Harry was not letting Ginny go but he would allow her to come because she had already proven her strength in battle on numerous occasions.
It had silently eaten away at her when Harry started dating Ginny even though she new he would never look at her like that. Ron had not even noticed when she stopped hanging out as much as she used to with them. He had been too busy trying to get back with Lavender. She had also feared that Harry would stop talking to her if she admitted that she loved him. She had battled many a night over weather or not she really loved Harry or the boy who lived. Ginny, Hermione knew loved Harry just plain Harry.

Suddenly there was a tap-tap at her window. Hermione didn’t even have to try to guess what it was she already knew it was a letter from Harry. He was staying with the Weasley’s so sometimes everyone would have him write a little something from everyone else. They had been writing letters to each other everyday since they got out of school. She always wondered why he continued to write letters to her when she had not been responding. Oh, she had been responding just not with her normal Hermione fever.
**
Harry was wondering if he should tell Hermione that he had officially broken up with Ginny. He wished it would work out between Ginny and himself but she was just not the one. She had a sweet disposition and would make Harry feel like he was the only one in the room but he wanted someone who made him feel like he was second in their life not first. He was sick of being first on every girls list of people throughout life. It had been almost exactly the same with Cho Chang; she just had wanted to date the boy who lived, too much.

He kept wondering why Hermione would not talk to him about Ginny and his relationship. Since they had started owling, one and other she had stopped talking about anything except Voldemort or the horcruxes. He had been hoping that she would say something about Ginny so he could tell her so she didn’t get upset that he had broken up with her after she had supported his relationship so much. It had nearly crushed Ron to learn that Harry had broken things off with Ginny but Ron understood why it had to be like that. He had been almost hoping that she would say something about her being there for him. He had just come to terms with these feelings as they were getting off the train. It was then he realized that if Hermione died he would have nothing to look forward to after the war. He also realized that she more than likely just liked him as a brother she never had.

**

She opened the letter ever so slowly enjoying the smell Harry always left on the paper after he had written on it. It smelled of cologne and outside air. She wanted to read what he had written but the sorrow that filled her at the thought it might all be about Ginny killed her.

Dearest Hermione,
I wanted to tell you before someone else did; that I broke things off with Ginny. Please, do not be upset because I know you really wanted me to be happy with her but I found that the one I need has always been there for me.
Hermione nearly dropped the letter at this statement. How could he love someone else? She urged herself on; she did want to know who he thought was better than Ginny.
She is the smartest witch in our year and she has long brown hair. She likes to read and fight with a certain Weasley.
A smile pulled at the corners of Hermione’s mouth.
I hope that by now you know whom I’m referring to, you. I must have been blind for the last six years to not see you right there in front of me. I only hope I’m not too late in telling you. So will you got to Diagon Alley with me on my birthday to help me pick something out for your parents so they don’t think I’m trying to horde you all to myself. Will you be able to come with us to Godric’s Hollow? I was hoping your parents came to their sense and agreed to let you go.
Well send me an owl sometime,
Harry P.

Her emotions had been on a rollercoaster since she began to read that later but she was so glad he had asked her to come help her with buying the present.

“MumcanIgowithHarryintotownnextfriday?” Hermione all but blurted out knowing her mother would never allow it.

“Now dear, we have already discussed you going anywhere with those boys!” Mrs. Granger stated simply, as if it were law.

“Mother, I don’t understand how you don’t like him. He has saved me like five times at least from one thing or another. He told me the today he likes me. Me, Hermione Granger, the girl who has the highest grade in every class and who tells everyone like it is. I didn’t think anyone would ever say they liked me for me, and not being the smart girl who helped Harry Potter figure all those things out.” Hermione said with conviction in her voice.

“Why did you think boys wouldn’t like you? You have such a pretty face and everyone must just love your hair.” Mrs. Granger added.

“MUM! This is the only boy in my year that has ever asked me out! Please let me go?” Hermione all but begged.

“Fine Hermione, you may go. I wish that you would grow up sometimes and not beg for things. I hope you understand why you can’t go to Godric’s Hollow with those boys. It would be the scandal of town if you went away for the summer with just two boys who aren’t even your family. All of you are underage in this world and you can’t prance around here like you’re an adult.” Mrs. Granger retorted.

“Fine Mum! I’m leaving and I’ll be staying at the Weasley’s until school starts and then when school is over I’ll find somewhere else to live, happily. I am going to be an adult sooner than you think! So you can’t stop me.” Hermione shouted, while the tears ran down her face.
She quickly packed all her belongings into her trunk and started to tug it out the bedroom door when she realized she should owl Harry first to tell everyone she was coming.

Harry,
I’m coming by Knight bus to the Weasley’s tonight. Please tell Molly I am so sorry I could not tell her further in advance. When I get there, I’ll explain everything.
Love Forever and Always
Hermione

She sent the Hedwig out the window to deliver the letter to Harry, “Hurry Hedwig, please hurry.”

She was afraid to cast the shrinking spell on her trunk in case the ministry was looking for underage magic use. She figured that it didn’t matter because the whole of England was on the watch and trying to catch death eaters. If you went into Diagon Alley or Hogsmead you could see the wanted signs on most windows showing pictures of every known death eater on the loose.

**

Harry glanced out into the yard out front of the burrow to see Hedwig swooping down at breakneck speeds. He opened the window just in time for her land haphazardly on the table. He reached out and took the letter out of her beak. It was a letter from Hermione. As he read it, he realized what he needed to do.

“Ron, mate I will be right back going to Hermione’s.” Harry shouted up the stairs.
He was sure he wouldn’t be missed because Ron had invited Lavender over for the day and Arthur had taken Molly and Ginny shopping due to his promotion at the Ministry. He was now the next in command to the minister himself. Dumbledore had helped a lot in that area. He summoned a quill and a scrap of parchment, leaving a small note about his where bouts.
He quickly flooed to the Grangers hoping to help Hermione finish whatever she needed.

**
He tumbled out of the fireplace landing at the feet of Mr. Granger who looked like he had just seen a ghost.

“I’m so sorry, Mr. Granger for the unexpected visit but I am afraid Hermione needs me.” He said with a huff quickly running up the stairs to Hermione’s room. When Harry arrived at Hermione’s door, he knocked hoping he wasn’t too late to help her lug her trunk. Hermione wiped her eyes when she heard the knock at her door, stood, and opened it only to shut it right in Harry’s face.

“Hermione, don’t be like that open up,” Harry shouted through the door.

Hermione whipped the door open and nearly jumped into Harry’s waiting open arms. She started to openly sob into his shoulder saying, “My mum doesn’t want me to have anything to do with you so I told her I was leaving to go to Ron’s and now I cant get my stuff out the door. What will she think?”

Harry reached up, brushed Hermione’s mane of hair back, and gave her a hug so that she would calm down. Hermione looked at the floor bashfully so Harry couldn’t see her blushing.
“What can I help with? Can I carry your trunk down the stairs? Can I get Crookshanks?” Harry asked with true meaning in his voice.

“Yes, please carry my trunk down the stairs and I’ll get the cat.” Hermione managed to sniff out through the tears, which were now to tears of pure disbelief that Harry was here to help her in her time of need. They made it to the fireplace where Hermione didn’t even look back and flooed directly to the Weasley’s.

As soon as they fell out of the fireplace Ms. Weasley jumped up out of her overstuffed chair to give Hermione a much needed hug. Ms. Weasley led Hermione to the kitchen and sat her down with a cup of tea with an abundance of calming drought in it.
