Lilly You are a ray of sunshine, In a world that’s sometimes grey. The magic of your company, Will brighten up the day. You’ve guided me through bad times, Wiped away my tears, And brought me so much joy, As we’ve travelled through the year. It warms my heart to know, You chose me as your friend, A loyal loving person, On whom I can depend. If I could have one wish, I’d make it just for you... I’d ask happiness for its blessing On everything you do. Happy 17th! Lilly, my flower Lilly’s eyes glazed with tears as she read James’s beautiful birthday poem. Not once all year had he badgered her, or asked her out. He had been her friend. She leapt from her bed, ran down the staircase leading to the girls dormitory and up those leading to the boys one. She entered the room of sleeping boys; Frank Longbottom, Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, Sirius Black and James Potter. They were all snoring softly. Quietly Lilly tip-toed over to James’s bed and slipped beneath his bed covers. His lips were parted slightly and his glasses askew. Lilly placed her lips daintily against his and kissed him softly. James stirred and blinked the sleep from his eyes, amazed at the sight before him. “Thank you James, for the poem. Will you go to Hogsmeade with me?” Lilly asked in a whisper. In shock he could only nod his head in response before she captured his lips with hers again. This time he returned the kiss with as much passion as he could muster. He ran one hand through her red hair and held the other in place on the small of her back. Lilly wrapped her arms around his neck as she deepened the kiss. James let his hand wander up and down Lilly’s back, she moaned in pleasure against his mouth. “I knew you’d come around Evans!” The kissing couple broke apart startled by the cry and turned to the owner of the voice. Sirius Black stood at the foot of the bed, a smug look upon his face. Accompanied by a smiling Remus Lupin and a shocked Peter Pettigrew. James grabbed the pillow from behind his head and flung it at his friends. “Sod off Padfoot!” He yelled. And he returned to kissing Lilly as if they weren’t there. After what seemed like only a moment they broke apart and he whispered; “I love you Lilly Evans” “I love you too... James Potter” She giggled in reply. Pushing him back down onto his bed with a smile etched on his face.
