"Harry, have you seen Ginny? My mum sent an owl to me. The letter says not to open it without her." Ron caught Harry off guard, he was still trying to find out who the mystery woman was. "Harry?" Ron asked, seeing the determination on his face. "What's wrong?" "Malfoy has a lover." Harry laughed softly to the sound of it. A cold-hearted bastard like Malfoy? Especially having a lover? It was an odd thing to think about. "Who is it?" Ron tossed aside any thoughts he had earlier about the letter his mother sent, focusing his full attention onto the words that came out of Harry's mouth. Harry explained what happened. "I just wish I would've seen her face." "Ronald." Ginny walked up to them, breaking them of their trance to figure out who the girl was. "I heard you were looking for me. What did Mum send?" "Huh?" Ron gave her a confused look. "Oh, right, that. I'm not sure, it said not to open it until you were around." He removed the letter from the envelope. "Dear Ginerva and Ronald," he started to read in a mocking voice of his mother. "Your older brother, Percy, will be coming to Hogwarts to take a small position Dumbledore has offered." Ron scoffed. Ginny grabbed the letter from him and continued. "I'm letting you know this in advance, so you don't get surprised by his arrival. He let me know in a one sentenced letter, which is just like him to do, and I don't believe he had any intent on tell you two. I hope he doesn't give you too much trouble. I love you both very much, Mum." Ginny scanned the note once more. "Great. My favorite person." She seemed very unenthusiastic about seeing him. It seems as though Percy has drifted away from the rest of the family, Ginny being the one who took it the hardest. "On to more interesting things," Ron interrupted her thoughts, "Malfoy has a girlfriend." Ginny looked up. "Are you sure?" Harry and Ron explained the situation. "I'm sure the truth will come out eventually," Ginny paused, biting her lip. "In any case, it's almost time for bed. Let's get going."
"Hello, Harry." Hermione sat in the overstuffed red love seat in the Common Room. "How's the hand?" "Still a bit stiff," Harry replied, plopping down next to her. "I found out something interesting about Malfoy that I think you should know." Not looking up from the book she had open on her lap, she replied sarcastically, "What, did he have someone secret meet him somewhere and you saw it?" Harry looked over at her with a surprised look. "How did you know?" Hermione glanced at him. "I was kidding. Who was it, and why should I care?" She dog-eared the page she was on, and closed the book, laying it on the floor in front of her. She crossed her legs and faced Harry. "I'm not sure who it is, but it's definitely a female. It seems as though he has a lover in Hogwarts." Harry watched for her reaction, hoping it'd be of surprise, but it was instead a look uninterest. "I thought it was going to be something important, like a Death Eater or You-Know-Who. Who cares if he has a girlfriend? Good for him, maybe he'll stop tormenting us and start being more human." She put her feet down onto the ground, picked up her book, raised up and looked down at Harry. "I'm heading to bed. If you guys are so concerned about who he's dating, why not just ask him?" She didn't wait for a replay and headed up the Girls Dormitories. "She's got a point, Harry." Ron said, leaning up against a wall. "I mean, I don't know very many guys who don't enjoy bragging about snogging it up with some girl. Or you could just ask around." Ron started heading up to bed. "I'm tired as well. And we have a test in Charms tomorrow morning." They said goodnight, and after a few moments, Harry started to follow Ron. "Harry?" Ginny grabbed his hand. "I want to know who it is, too. If you want to do some detective work, count me in." Still holding his hand, Ginny smiled. "I am your girlfriend, afterall." "Of course, Ginny. I could never forget that." He held her close, kissed her on the forehead, and bid her good night.
"Look at what my parents sent to me!" Hermione said giddily, sitting down in between the boys. "It's a beautiful ring, isn't it?" She was right. Harry took a close look at it, it was white gold with small diamonds on it, some of them were black. It made an odd design, but was very beautifully put together. Hermione had put it on a necklace and was wearing it around her neck. "Why don't you wear it on your finger?" Ginny asked, sitting across from her. Hermione thought for a few moments. "I don't want to get it dirty, and with Herbology being a class I'm required to take, I don't believe wearing it is a good idea. Also, this way, I won't lose it because I won't have to take it off." Ron stuffed pudding into his mouth. "Why'd vey shend it to yoo?" He swallowed. "I mean, is it for a special occasion?" Hermione smiled. "I guess you could say that. But I can't say what. It's a family matter." She sipped her pumpkin juice, grabbing a piece of toast in the process. "I still want to know who Malfoy is dating." Harry seemed to forget about their conversation. "Really, Harry, why must you be so obsessed with Malfoy? Every time he has something go on with him, you have to know every detail. I can almost swear you're in love with him." Hermione took a bite of toast. "Just let it be, or ask him yourself." Harry looked at her pointedly. "I want to know who it is, too, Hermione," Ginny butted in. "It's more curiosity than anything. I mean, who could be attracted to a guy like Malfoy? He's not exactly the nicest person I've ever met." Hermione shrugged, taking a final bite at her toast, before putting it down. "I forgot my books in the Dormitory. I need to get them before class. Oh, Merlin, I got too caught up about my ring..." She walked off, out the door. Ginny looked across the table at Harry, a look of wonder in her eye. Usually Hermione loved to know things, for her to not want to know what was going on was odd. Ron burped. "Well, lad," he looked at Harry, "Shall we head to Charms?"
"What are you staring at, Potter," Draco sneered, leaving it as a rhetorical question. Harry stood across the desk from where Draco was sitting, Ron took his usual seat. "Oh, nothing. I was just wondering who it was that came to see you in the hospital wing." Harry smirked at the look on Draco's face. A couple of the other students in the class looked in their direction, wanting to know more. "If you must know, Potter, it's was my fiancé." Draco held up his left hand. On the ring finger was a silver band, almost unnoticeable against Draco's pale skin. "And as to who it is, you don't need to know. Not like it's any of your business." The class stared at Harry. He was at a loss of words, still unsure what to say as he took his seat. Draco's face lit up with delight. Professor Flitwick soon started class. "Hello, everyone! I do hope you all prepared for this test! I made it as easy as I possibly could without giving you the answers." He flicked his wand and papers appeared before the students. Ron looked over the questions and groaned. "I'm going to fail, Harry." "Quiet now. Everyone, pick up your quills, and let us begin."
