A/n Ok this is my third Lily/James story. This one is in James p.o.v. The song is Hear you me by Jimmy eat world.



It was the last hogsmead visit of my 6th year. I walked up to Lily Evans the girl I had loved since I first saw her. She was talking to her friends. I asked to talk to her in private. So she followed me away from the crowds. “What, Potter?” She snapped at me. “Will you go to hogsmead with me?” I asked looking at the ground. “No, I am going with Amos Diggory.” Then she walked away.


I stood feeling heartbroken. She was the only reason I liked coming here. My friends all lived around my house so I can always see then. Not Lily. She lived in Surry. I lived miles away in Godrics Hollow. Now she had a boyfriend. Or a date or what ever he was to her. So now she has a reason to turn my down when I ask her out. I walked away with my friends. 


     
 I saw Lily hug and kiss Amos Diggory. He laughed and took her hand. Her friends soon joined her. They were all laughing and messing around. I saw Amos put his arm around Lily and look at her fondly. I wanted to slug him. My best friend tapped me on my arm. “Hey, Prongs, you ok?” Sirius Black my best friend (More like Brother) asked me. I nodded so the other three walked off. I saw Lily eyeing me over Amos shoulder. I watched her. She turned back to Amos.

There's no one in town I know

All the students reached Hogsmead. I saw Sirius up a head of me. “Padfoot!!” I yelled and he waited for me. My other friends Remus Lupin (Mooney) and Peter Pettigrew (Wormtail) were with Sirius as well. I again saw Lily with Amos this time he was kissing her fiercely. I looked away. The four of us went to Honeydukes, The hogs head, Zonko’s, The Shrieking Shack, a quill shop and finally to the three broom sticks. But all the time I was thinking of Lily.

When we were in the three broomsticks I could swear I saw Lily. But it could not be her because this girl was all alone. I knew for a fact Lily never went anywhere with out her friends. My friends and I finished our drinks and ordered 4 butterbeers to go. Then we left. I took one last look at the girl. She was wearing the outfit Lily was this morning. But I could not be her. We headed back to the Castle. I was still thinking of Lily. I wish she was walking with us.

We finally made it back to the common room. Then the others headed up to the Dormitory. I sat in my favorite arm chair. The Common room was empty besides me. I saw a furious Amos Diggory go up to the dorm. Then all Lily’s friends came in looking worried. 



“ Whats wrong?” I asked Holly Meredith Lily very best friend. She started to cry. I hugged her and looked at the others. Danielle Montgomery mouthed “Lily is missing.” I pushed Holly into Danielle’s arms and headed out of the Common room.



I ran all the way back to the three broomsticks. The girl was still there. I walked into the pub and walked up to the girl. She looked up. It was Lily. She was crying. I smiled at her and walked to the bar. “Two hot chocolates extra whip cream to go and put wings on it.” I told the bartender.




The bartender ran to get the drinks and I looked at Lily. She was still crying. I knew that Amos had something to do with this and I was going to murder him once Lily was alright.The bartender returned with the drinks. I reached to pay her but she said “No dear, just take care of your little friend.” I smiled and ran back to Lily. 

She was now hiccupping but no longer crying. I handed her her drink. My mum always said that a nice cup of hot chocolate and a little love could go a long way. I had always believed that. Now more then ever as Lily smiled at me and took her drink.



I asked her “Want to head back?” She looked at her watch “We probably should.” She muttered. So I helped her into her coat and handed her the drink. She took it with one hand and held the other out to me. I looked at her. She shrugged and took my hand. I laced my finger through hers and we stepped into the windy June night.




We walked back through hogsmead. We were on the winding path back to the castle when I worked up the nerve to ask her. “So Lily, what went wrong today? Why were you alone in the pub?” She looked up at me. “Amos broke up with me.” I was surprised “Why?” I asked without hesitation. “I have loved someone else for 6 years and Amos is tired of me talking about him. So he broke it off this afternoon.”  She said still looking at me. “Who do you love?” I asked feeling sad. “I am looking at him.” She smiled.

“Me? You love me?” I was shocked to say the least. “I have for about 6 years, James.” “So why do you consistently turn me down?” I asked her. “I have seen how you treat other girls who you have dated. You like them one week then drop them for the next pretty face that you see. I do not want to be treated like that. I will not have my heart broken like that.” She was close to tears again. “Oh, Lily, I do that because I have for 6 years loved someone who would not give me the time of day. Let alone let me date her. I date that way because I was trying to forget about you. But it would not be that way with you. Because I have realized it is not possible to forget you love.”



She was actually crying now. “How can you love me? You have every girl in Hogwarts at your feet and you choose me? Why James?” I laughed “Because I actually had to work to get you. The others are all too easy to have. Plus you are my dream girl. You always have been and always will be.” We had now reached the common room. She looked up at said “Goodnight, James” She then kissed me and walked up to her dorm. I touched my lips were she had kissed me. “Goodnight Love.” I whispered then I headed up to my dorm to get some sleep.
